02/26/2009 - Daily Prayer

The great American intellectual and humanitarian, George Washington Carver taught that "how far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because," he said, "someday in life you will have been all of these.
We pray to the Holy One, the Creator of all humanity to grant us the ability to empathize with those whose place in life is different than our own, give us the desire to reach out to those who need us, and enable us to be patient with those with whom we might not share much in common. And may it be Your will, o God, that others will show the same patience and compassion with each of us.--AMEN.
