Lord,
King Leonidas and the 300 Spartan soldiers valiantly fought invaders in 480 B.C., against tremendous odds. The Greek ideal of freedom was the driving force that strengthened those ancient warriors. Your gift of freedom, Lord, also inspired the Modern Greek nation to overthrow their tyrannical oppressors in 1821 and Greeks worldwide celebrated their independence day this month. We thank you, Lord, for what we have and for the freedom to live, worship, and serve You. Make us mindful that our trust and faith must always be in You, Who will save us and lead us into the blessedness of Your eternal kingdom.--AMEN
