Almighty God,
We give you thanks for the call to be the voice of the diverse people of California who have elected us in hopes of bringing concrete solutions to their needs and building a better world for our children.
We look to you eternal God, that we may be enlightened with an abundance of wisdom. May your light shine on us so that we will find common solutions and serve the common good in each of our legislative actions.
Give peace, harmony and prosperity to our nation--especially California. May we be able to clearly see the right path
in these times of economic and social crisis.
And may we be able to walk together on that path
until we reach that perfect union
where your justice and mercy will reign over all.
