Heavenly Father,
We thank You for granting us the opportunity to once again gather here at the California State Capitol to join the State Legislature in commemorating the 94th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
We come before You this day humbly offering our prayers for the repose of the souls of our martyrs and pay tribute to their loving memory, as well as to the memory of martyrs of all peace-loving nations who haven fallen victim to inhuman acts for their love of nation and love of their faith.
We thank Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for proclaiming April 23 to April 29, 2009, as Days of Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide and all of our elected officials who stand united with us in our common quest for justice and dignity for all mankind.
With our united efforts, unwavering resolve, and the strength of our voices and prayers, we can be certain that justice will prevail.
Lord, we ask You to grant us the strength to go forward in our cause and not falter in our commitments and responsibilities. Grace us with courage and wisdom to fulfill our mission to serve for the progress of our community and nation, and grant us the spiritual renewal to help us meet and overcome new challenges and to reach our goals.
