O God,
Life rarely presents us with an easy path to walk. It is human nature to want to please others, and to say what we think people want to hear. It is often easier to try
to be what others want us to be, rather than to be true to our own selves.
But Ralph Waldo Emerson warns us with these words, he said "make the most of yourself, for that is all there is to you."
In the end, the challenge in life is to always strive to become the best person we can be, to live authentic lives where there is no disconnect between what we believe and what we do or what we say, and in the end to take measure of our lives by weighing what we did by what we knew we could do.
We pray to the Holy One, the Creator of all humanity to give us the strength to live our lives with integrity, to have the courage to find our own truth and to live by it.
