There is one Presence, one Power in the Universe known by many names. No need to invite the Power into the room because the Power is already here and with us in every step we take. This Power, Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent is in each Senator and his or her staff and each of their constituents.
Simply, we turn our attention to this Presence, allowing the Infinite Intelligence that is within us to govern today’s proceedings. I welcome the atmosphere of Divine understanding and patience so that whatever needs to be said is said, and whatever needs to be heard is heard with the understanding that God is in the house.
The great Muslim teacher and poet, Rumi, once wrote: "Out beyond rightdoing and wrongdoing there is a field. I`ll meet you there." May Rumi’s teaching be the foundation of today’s proceedings--AMEN.
