As one of the people of California visiting the Capitol on this immigrant day, my prayer is that we who have been blessed by the choices and decisions of other people in the past can make wise decisions for the common good of all, for the future that is to come.
Let us pray.
Almighty Creator and giver of all grace.
We pray for wisdom and strength to follow through on the important decisions and commitments that are made in this place.
Today as we observe Immigrant Day, we pray for those who look for a better future.
We pray for their safety as we pray for justice and peace for all.
A special blessing over the members of this senate and their families, for our country and its people.
This is our prayer,--AMEN.
