05/30/2012 - Daily Prayer

O God of all humanity:
It is a human need to ponder the meaning and value of life, to question what is necessary for the body and for the soul.
The theologian, C.S. Lewis pondered these questions and came to the conclusion that “Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.”
To be human is to desire to more than simply exist, to do more than just survive, we also contain within us a yearning to thrive.
May it be Your will Eternal God to grant us more than what is merely necessary to survive, may we also be worthy to receive the blessings that nourish our minds, give joy to our hearts, and value to our days. May this be God’s will-AMEN.
