06/18/2012 - Daily Prayer

After Nelson Mandela had been released from prison, a newspaper reporter asked Desmond TuTu what he thought of this monumental event. He said, “Not now. I’ve got to dance!”

Let us pray:

Gracious and loving God, there are so many hurts and pains in our communities and cities - so much so that that is all that we hear about. While it is of utmost importance to meet the needs of these deep concerns, it is also important to remember that there is so much to celebrate. California is one of the largest economies in the world. California is a place of great innovations and creativity. California is the breadbasket of the nation. People from all around the world want to come and see California. We pray for our senators today, that in their deliberations they will find ways to honor, nurture, support and lift up the good works that are happening in this great state of California. This prayer we pray--AMEN
