08/06/2012 - Daily Prayer

Beloveds as we gather let us take a breath together knowing that as we do
it is the very breath of Life,
the breath of our Creator which moves through us.
And as this life force moves through each and every one,
may we open our hearts to compassion and love.
May we open our minds to greater wisdom and inspiration from the Divine;
so that the work completed in these Chambers may be done for the
highest and best good for all people throughout this state, and the world.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, 19th Century American philosopher said,
"Trust men and they will be true to you; treat them greatly and they will
show themselves great".
We pray to the Divine Spirit that lives within us,
bless the members of this Senate with insight and brilliance
as they go about the daily affairs of the State, and their lives;
that they may show themselves great
with loving kindness and mindfulness;
with honor and integrity.
