I read a story about a young couple who had a garage sale. They had decided to put out a mirror they’d received as a wedding gift because it had a gaudy aqua-colored metal frame and they just couldn’t find a room in their house where it looked good.
Shortly after the garage sale began, a man bought the mirror for one dollar. He was very excited, and said as he bought it: “This is a great deal - it still has the plastic on it.” Then he peeled off the aqua-colored protective covering… to reveal a beautiful gold finished frame underneath.
This man saw potential, where the couple could not. As members of the California Senate, you are all called to look past the aqua film and to find the best potential for this great state of California.
Let us pray:
Eternal God, we pray for our California Senate. We pray for clarity of mind, eyes to find the best potential, and for positive decisions to be made today that will better the lives of all in this great state of California. Amen
