Holy and Gracious God, we give you thanks for this new day; new possibilities, new opportunities and new challenges. Give these your servants the strength to serve your people, the wisdom to do what is right, and the courage to act. Help each of us to do always what you require of us, as your prophet Micah declared long ago – to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God. AMEN.
