08/30/2008 - Daily Prayer

Let us bow in prayer-Oh God the creator of us all and who loves us each individually we come to You this morning in thanksgiving because we owe so much to Your constant love and care. We’re thankful to live in a nation with the freedoms that we enjoy and we’re thankful to be servants in the great state of California. As we approach this Labor Day weekend we’re thankful for working men and women and their work which enriches each of us and we pray especially for those who are out of work, many of whom suffer physical and mental disabilities, will You bless them? And may we be an instrument to alleviate their needs. And father now as we are now in this last day of this session, we thank You for this opportunity for those of us who will be leaving this senate. We ask that You will continue to guide us in our service, that we may seek to give rather than to get and to serve rather than to be served. And for those who will continue in this body we would pray that You would grant them wisdom and guidance in the service that they render. May You bless us and keep us and may Your face shine upon us and give us peace. AMEN
