08/31/2008 - Daily Prayer

Whether we come from a tradition that celebrates the Sabbath on Friday, or Saturday, or on Sunday - the idea is the same. God set aside the Sabbath not only as a day of rest - but also as a day of praise and thanksgiving. A day for us to step back and appreciate the many blessings in our lives - to refrain from asking, from taking, from focusing inward and instead to say thank you for the world we have been given.
May we be ever mindful of the holiness of life, the beauty of the earth, and the mysteries of life. As we open our hearts in gratitude for all that we have, may we never forget to honor and protect, and show generosity of spirit with all of God`s creations. May this be God`s will. AMEN.
