Prayer Offered for April 23, 2018

Lord Almighty, with gratitude in our hearts we thank You for the blessing of this day as we have gathered here once again with our dear friends of the California State Senate to pay tribute to the 1.5 million holy martyrs of the Armenian Genocide on this 103rd anniversary commemoration.

Today, as we remember the lives of the innocent men, women, and children lost during the Armenian Genocide, we remember the victims of all genocides, past and present, praying for the repose of their souls and for Your divine protection to be upon all those caught in the crosshairs of conflict around the world. May You grant strength, patience, and hope for better days to those enduring suffering, and establish Your love and peace in the hearts of all.

Lord, we thank our esteemed elected officials for designating this time each year to honor the memory of our ancestors and for their continued solidarity with the Armenian-Armenian community in pursuit of our noble and just cause. May Your blessings be upon them as they faithfully perform the duties entrusted to them as guardians of public interest, and lead them to new heights in their civil service to our beloved state of California we proudly call home.

As we continue our quest for universal recognition and justice for the Armenian Genocide, may we draw fortitude, wisdom, and perseverance from You to remain undeterred and tireless in our fight. And with Your divine guidance, and the united efforts of our friends and supporters, may truth, justice, and righteousness prevail in due time.

Lord, we continue to pray for a world where peoples of all faiths, races, and ethnicities can coexist in peace and harmony, with mutual respect and tolerance for one another, and where liberty, equality, and human rights is regarded above all.

May the memory of our faithful departed remain ever-blessed. May Your blessings and protection be upon the leadership, armed forces, and citizenry of this great nation, and may You keep us in peace under Your loving care and mercy.—AMEN.
