Prayer Offered for April 7, 2022

As we prepare for Easter and Passover, let us pray the prayer of Howard Thurman and endeavor to bring peace to our hearts and our world.

Lord, my God,

Open unto me—

Light for my [blindness]; courage for my fear; hope for my despair; and peace for my turmoil.

Open unto me—

Joy for my sorrow; strength for my weakness; wisdom for my confusion; and forgiveness for my sin.

Lord, open unto me—

Tenderness for the toughness; love for my hates.

Thy Self for myself, Lord, Lord, open unto me!—AMEN.
