Prayer Offered for August 18, 2022

Upon invitation of the President, the following prayer was offered by Senator Wiener, as written by the Chaplain, Sister Michelle Gorman, RSM:

God of mercy and compassion,

Open our ears that we may hear the calls for love and justice.

Let us see beyond superficial differences and recognize one another as sisters and brothers. Free our hearts from the weeds of bitterness and anger.

Help us recognize the dignity of those who are marginalized as we work from the benefit of all. We ask this in your name.—AMEN.
