Gracious and merciful God, we pray for the power to be gentle; the strength to be forgiving; the patience to be understanding; and the endurance to accept the consequences of holding on to what we trust to be right.
May we know the power of good and the power of love to create a new world where fear and selfishness no longer lead people to commit injustice or bring suffering to others.
We pray for vision to see and faith to believe in a world emancipated from violence. Help us to devote our energy to the task of making peace and inspiring all to contribute their gifts for the preservation of humanity.—AMEN.
