Divine Spirit,
Creator of every kind of paradox and puzzle,
Our mystification must be Your joy.
Why else would You hide Yourself so effectively?
We ask You to take us gently toward the light
And persuade us to learn wisdom from the alive and elegant universe.
Our prayers and philosophizing will guide us gradually through the unknown
To help us sense Your holy presence,
And learn which convictions of ours are promising, and which are illusory.
In awe, we know Your heart,
And admire Your astounding generosity.
You are our God, the God with us and beyond us.
We hope to be Your joy.—Amen.
