Dear God, thank You for blessing our lives in countless ways—intimate expressions of Your love realized in the lives of those we hold dear! Entrusted with grave responsibility, as elected officials, embolden our hearts and enlighten our minds to lead Your people by example. Guide us to legislate laws that uphold the God-given dignity with which You have endowed each and every person. Temper our quest for power and prestige with Your humility, gentleness and compassion—impartial to the wealthy and well-connected and just to the poor and powerless.—AMEN
