Prayer Offered for June 20, 2019

I could not lie anymore

So I started to call my dog “God.”

First he looked confused.

Then he started smiling.

And then he even danced.

I kept at it: now he doesn’t even bite!

I am wondering

If this might work

Gracious God, help us to acknowledge the spark of divinity in everyone we meet today, especially those whom we’ve been conditioned to dismiss or marginalize.—AMEN.
