Prayer Offered for June 20, 2022

Referring to her experience in the LGBTQIA community, Andrea Jenkins of the Minneapolis City Council says:

“It’s a journey and we all have a role to play.”

God of vast and diverse creation, today we pray that we may all consider our role in helping smooth the journey for LGBTQIA people.

May we continue to become better educated and participate in engaged dialogue on issues of gender identity and sexual orientation.

May we trust in the power of our positive attitudes to remove barriers and bring healing and joy to those who have been unjustly deprived of love and dignity.

May we live in greater allyship with one another, without privilege, hierarchy, or judgment—bringing closer to the reality of the oneness that we all desire.

May our deepest desires be for the building up of our diverse communities in cooperation and collaboration and with the integrity of a word and deed.

We ask this in Your name.—AMEN.
