Prayer Offered for June 7, 2018

O God of many paths, the labyrinth is a metaphor for our journey to You.  In the Western world we have been taught that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. We have often modeled our journey to You on the straight line, only to experience frustration. But You, O God of infinite surprise, show us a path that is curved, where often the center and periphery are side by side. When it seems that we are not approaching our goal, help us remember that we may be closer than it seems. May the labyrinth be a symbol of our surrender to mystery-trusting, not knowing for certain, that the path which curves in and out ultimately leads to the Center, which is You.—AMEN.
