Since this is Women’s History Month, I’d like to combine St. Patrick and St. Brigid, both patron saints of Ireland. St. Patrick was a bishop, and rumor has it that so was Brigid. And Brigid is said to have miraculously changed water into beer!
Gracious and loving God, as we celebrate the lives of St. Patrick and St. Brigid who brought harmony where there was conflict, today we pray:
May the mantle of Your peace cover those who are troubled and anxious.
May peace be firmly rooted in our hearts and in our world.
Inspire us to act justly and to reverence all that you have made.
Calm us into a quietness that listens and heals.
May we grow each day into greater wholeness of mind, body and spirit.—AMEN.
