Jill Cornell Tarter is an American astronomer and the former director of the SETI Institute, working on the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. She says:

We thank You for those creative people like Jill Tarter, who search the universe for other life, only to remind us of our need to appreciate the astonishing magnificence of the moving, breathing world of creatures on our own planet.
