Prayer Offered for May 22, 2015

Sikh Traditional Prayer
Having first remembered God the Almighty, think of Guru Nanak;
Then Angad Guru, Amar Das, and Ram Das; may they help us!
Remember Arjun, Har Gobind and the holy Har Rai.
Let us think of the holy Har Krishan whose sight dispels all sorrow.
Let us remember Teg Bahadur, and the nine treasures shall come hastening to our homes.
May they assist us everywhere!
May the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh the protector of the faith, assist
us everywhere!
May Guru Granth Sahib (Sikh Holy Scripture), the Eternal Light, assist
us everywhere.
     O Almighty, All-Pervading and Eternal God, to Thee, I pray, O Lord; Thou art my True Master, Thou art my Protector ever, I dwell on Thee. Save us all, O Father, from Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment and Pride; and keep us always attached to Thy Feet. Bless us all with the eyes of the Mind to see You present in all human beings, Your own images, and enable
us to love You and pay respect to all without any discrimination on the basis of race, religion, creed, sex, color, etc. May Peace, Accord, and Harmony prevail in the place of unrest, chaos, and tyranny, as now in the world.
     Almighty God, we humbly request You to keep all the men and women who sacrificed their lives while serving in the U.S. military and laid their lives to protect freedom for us at Your glorious feet, protect them forever and provide comfort to their families.We beseech Your assistance and blessings in that regard. With full faith in You, O God-Guru, we bow before You repeating Nanak’s words:
     “May thy name forever be on the ascendancy, and all human beings prosper with Thy Grace. Nanak Nam Chardi Kala, Tere Bhane sarbat The Bhalla.Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa, Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh. Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal.”
