Prayer Offered for May 24, 2024

Gracious and merciful God, on this Memorial weekend, we remember all who have died in the service of our country, whose hearts and hopes are known to You alone.

Comfort those who grieve the loss of loved ones and let Your healing be the hope in their hearts.

Hear our prayer of gratitude for those who put the welfare of others ahead of their own and give us hearts as generous as theirs.

May all who pay the price for our liberty experience courage, hope, and strength through our compassionate support and gentle love.

Help us to shape a world where we will turn our swords into ploughshares for a harvest of justice and peace.

You who created us, who sustain us, who call us to live in peace, hear our prayer this day.—AMEN.
