Let us Pray:
Eternal God, we open this legislative session acknowledging that You are Supreme in all matters! You are above all and within all!
I give You thanks today for the men and women who inhabit this Chamber.
These are they, who have answered the call to courageously serve that “which is greater than themselves.”
These are they, who You have called and assigned for “such a time as this!”
Lord, our times are “heavy” with difficult and complicated social problems requiring tough decisions and actions!!
Endow these men and women, I do pray!
Endow them with moral wisdom and divine understanding to govern wisely in these times.
Endow them with sincere commitment and concern for the relief of the most vulnerable living among us.
Keep each one ever focused on the human flourishing for all of California.
May every city and every locale be served well by these, your chosen ones!!
