Prayer Offered for February 3, 2025

In honor of Black History Month, let us pray:

Loving God, give us a heart that inspires us to love without reservation,

to continue to step out in courageous service to one another,

and never to dig up in doubt what we have planted in faith.

Guard our hearts from the distractions of the shallow,

and keep us on the critical path for which You have called us this day.

Fortify us with Your grace to speak kindly,

to keep our words and actions on the upswing

and to refuse to allow any brokenness to infiltrate our spirits.

Let Your light shine through the cracks and splinters

of the less-than-perfect portions of our hearts.

May we forgive ourselves our imperfections,

and in response, return needed compassionate forgiveness to others.—AMEN.
