I invite you to join me, each in your own way, as we enter a moment of prayer or mindful presence.
Creator, Source, Hope, we pause in gratitude for the communities of California who entrust their hopes and challenges to this chamber. In this shared work, may we remember the quiet truth that none of us stands alone. The music artist Hezekiah Walker offers a simple and powerful reminder:
“I pray for you, you pray for me. He continues to: I need you to survive.”
May that spirit of mutual care guide our conversations today. May our work reflect steadiness, respect, and a commitment to the wellbeing of our neighbors.
Shalom, May it be so, and Amen.
